Custom Seeding

We use a no-till seed drill on our farm for planting forage, over seeding and cover crops. We quickly realized other farms could benefit from our expertise in land management, soil building and remediation of land by utilizing the precision and very minimal disturbance of soil that a no-till drill offers.

A no-till drill can plant grasses, legumes, brassica's and small grains directly in the soil. A benefit to the no-till method is the precision in how it plants. It can plant at a depth of 1/8' to over 3" depending on the type of seeds that are being planted. This planting method will also help reduce seed waste due to wind, birds and rain. It plants the seeds in rows and presses the small slits it makes in the ground to cover the seed bed and protect the seeds. Germination happens quicker than broadcasting seeds and germination rates are 80% greater than broadcasting.

SOIL is the number one factor in growing forage as well as the animals or crops that are grown on it. Understanding what your soil needs are, can improve deficiencies in the soil, reduce/eliminate weeds, allow for a better recovery period all without the use of pesticides or herbicides. We offer free consultations along with FREE soil sampling to better understand the needs of your soil and then we can plant accordingly.

We offer a wide array of seed options. We have standard mixes for pastures and can blend custom mixes from our various seed distributors.
